New Enforcement Director Appointed

The Commission has appointed Judge Margaret Ryan as the next Director of the Division of Enforcement. Judge Ryan brings a variety of experience to the position. The Judge received her law degree from the University of Notre Law School. There she received her J.D. degree summa cum laude, graduating first in her law school class while  serving as a member of the law review. Her undergraduate degree is from Knox College where she majored in political science. Following law school Ms. Ryan was a judge advocate in the U.S. Marine Corp.

Judge Ryan previously clerked for U.S. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas. She also served as a clerk to Judge Michael Luttig of the United States Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces.  In addition, Ms. Ryan has worked at two private law firms., Wiley Rein & Fielding  and Bartlit Beck Herman Palenchar & Scott.

Currently the Judge lectures on military law and Justice at Harvard Law School, and also teaches at Notre Dame Law School and the George Washington University Law School.
